The guide below shows how to connect your inbox, choose contacts, summarize emails, ask AI questions, and manage privacy controls.

Log in with Gmail or Microsoft

Use the Gmail or Microsoft sign-in button. Discere connects securely through those providers, so you do not type your mailbox password into Discere.

Add important contacts

Open the Contacts card and add the senders you care about. Discere focuses on those people, not your whole inbox.

Summarize

Discere checks recent emails from your contacts and creates summaries with key topics, updates, action items, deadlines, attachments, and a bottom line.

Ask AI about your emails

Click AI Assistant to ask about saved summaries and email context. Try questions like "What deadlines do I have?" or "What did Ben ask me to do?"

Schedule recurring reports

Click the clock button to schedule reports. Choose the name, repeat timing, send time, timezone, and Days Back.

Each run checks for new summaries first, then sends the report to your connected email. You can edit, pause, or delete saved schedules.

Common questions

Why did an email come back after I deleted the summary?

Deleting removes the saved summary and lets the email be found again later. To remember it was handled, mark it as Done instead.

Can AI Assistant answer privacy or security questions?

Yes. It can answer questions about saved emails, privacy, security, report sending, retention, and account controls.

Does Discere summarize every email?

No. Discere summarizes emails from contacts you choose and verifies the sender before processing. Those contacts are not notified.

What gets sent to AI?

Relevant email text and thread context are sent to OpenAI. Attachment contents are sent only if AI Attachment Access is on.
